So… with all this on my plate, why am I blogging about politics?

I’ve spent more than 20 years changing diapers, helping with homework, cheering at little league — even organizing the “treat schedule.”

I’ve attended teacher conferences, packed lunches and bravely handed over the car keys to my teen drivers.

I’ve tried to teach my children values through both words and example. And I’ve consistently prayed for them.

All this is important stuff. Necessary stuff. Mom stuff.

But I also think an important job of a mom (or dad) is to try to impact public policy so her children will be able to enjoy the many freedoms and opportunities available to citizens of this great country.

This blog is a small step toward that goal.
